The MacKenzies - The Land that Time Forgot
While some have experienced the magic of the NWT, I bet very few can describe even to ourselves much less to others the way Randy story-tells and Marcus records a visual record the way the Mackenzie's make you feel when you are there. Excellent job to you and Marcus with this piece, and thank...- MaybelNellie

Elk Week with Jim Zumbo
O'Connor and Zumbo...all I needed to read growing up. Miss the print-only days, but one of Randy's best pod-casts.- MaybelNellie

Sheep Show in Reno
RMBS is a model affiliated-WSF org, and I understand Wyoming WSF and Nevada's are the same. Both WY and NV will never push out a 208" Rocky or a 190" Desert, but the massive work they do to maintain existing and establish/enhance new herds with the very important large herd sizes each state has...- MaybelNellie

Sheep Show in Reno
Tough deal right there. And agree totally at Hunt Expo. The way I justify Reno money-wise is the free draws (except for sneaking in good odds raffles like the Stone hunt when my wife isn't looking). This year there where 6 "free" draws with great odds - Tough Sheep workout (cost $100), IMF4...- MaybelNellie

Sheep Show in Reno
Just go. Every year I try to reason with the expense and what does Randy and Atchenson say? ...you will run out of health before you run out of money. It's the same joy when you walk in the convention that you feel when you finally bust through the beetle kill blowdown and willows in the dark...- MaybelNellie

25 Wyoming Sheep Points
I drew in unit 2 in '22 with 22 pts and went with Meade. Avail for a call to discuss how I navigated through all the outfits. Spoke with most of them. Besides the interview with the man, next best info I wanted was where to apply and why...resident pressure and where does it come from, likely...- MaybelNellie

2024 Wyoming Elk
Packsaddle, with my 17 points can you comment on the far northwest Park County group of units? The ones that are below max need draw and weather dependent? Worth the risk in your mind if you’re over applying there in my or kep’s case? Do you speak with wood river though. My discussions with...- MaybelNellie

Elk .... Let's see them!!!
Love it when the bird dogs get to go. They only get 10-12 hunting seasons. Give them at least a seat in the truck or have the wife keep track of them at camp!- MaybelNellie

Elk .... Let's see them!!!
School Pot-lucks. Not sure if was legal, but wife used to always get asked to provide that tasty taco meat for school cinco de mayo celebrations for each of our three kids classes (2 classes per grade). Learned over the years to move from elk to MD to speed goats. The kids loved it all the same...- MaybelNellie

2024 Wyoming Elk
Thanks again to all. Met John years ago. Nice enough guy, but understand. Have an email to Corey. Talked to a new outfit in 51 that thinks best odds are hunting last week in Oct and hoping for the best if willing to "under-apply" by 2-3 points in my case. For Gen hunts and outfitters that...- MaybelNellie

Elk .... Let's see them!!!
Daughter's first bull from a couple years back. Colo 4th season. Thanksgiving morning, and missed the turkey. Mom not too happy at first... Used her 6.5 CM that she shoots well, but with the Barnes LRX 127gr. She keeps her shots under 300 yds on elk. This bull was about 150. Two quick shots...- MaybelNellie

Guided Wyoming Horseback Elk Hunt Recommendation
jnagel, thank you for your service. Sorry for late reply, but in same boat except with 2 short of max. On another thread here with same discussion, and starting my search after giving up on going on a max point tier unit with my preferred outfit that I hunted sheep with. Give me a shout, but...- MaybelNellie
