Buck hanging with fawns?
I worked late tonight and ran across them. She/he is still with the fawns and the goofy horns have gotten goofier. Passenger side has gotten longer but driver’s side has not. It really screams doe to me. I didnt have my camera, so only cruddy cell phone pics. -

Colorado bull elk GMU 22
Another thing to consider that I just thought of…..fire damage. The place we have hunted (west of meeker, south from the white river) got decimated by the wildfire a year or two ago. Our guys don't think their properties will be “huntable” until 2028ish. Not sure the extent of the damage... -

I have hunted 22 twice. We hunted a mix of leased and public land, and saw plenty of Elk. You can get close to the leased land via public, but it is a really long hike and they very rarely see other hunters. Beautiful country. Grab a bear tag if they are still $100. I got one the first year... -

I don't know why guys get so caught up on price. If you spend $100-$150 on a pair of pants that will last 10+ years, are they really that "expensive"? I have had my attacks for probably 5 years now. Tactical pants for hunting
Coupled with their zip off/on base layers, its a game changer. Climb with the base layer off and the zips open, stay cool. Get to a spot where you are going to sit, and zip on the base layer without having to take your boots off.- LongCut

Tactical pants for hunting
I have darn near every brand of "tactical" pants out there. But for hunting, it's Kuiu for me. The Attack pants and the Axis Hybrid pants are awesome. Super comfortable, leg vents, great pockets and durable. The Axis Hybrids also have a waterproof seat and lower legs.- LongCut

Major upgrade
I've had a VX3 on a rifle since 1997. Tons of miles on it, tons of rounds through, been dropped a few times in the woods. Never an issue. The classic magnums - will they see a renaissance?

Kuiu attack pants
I love my attack pants. As you have found out, they are great. I love the vents and the pockets. I wear them to work regularly, when it's not hunting season. Take a look at the Axis Hybrid pants. For straight hunting pants, they are my favorite.- LongCut
