My dad drew the 91-7 cow elk permit which is only valid south of 239 and west of 89 off of national forest. Looks to be very limited state and BLM land in this area and imagine we will have to do some door knocking to try to get him his first elk.
Does anyone know of any outfitters in this area...
Thanks all for the advice. I have encouraged her for years to take her conceal carry course so an instructor could work with her.
Still would like to drop her down to a smaller caliber with not as stout of recoil. I myself used to carry a .460 Rowland for bears and was quite used to a stout...
I am in Columbia, MO. She was struggling to hit paper at about 5 yards and was way left and then way low too. After about 40 rounds of trying to coach her, I decided I better get something with less recoil. I could hit center at 10 yards with it. It is the first handgun I purchased and is the...
The gun is black and has a dead ringer scope. It has only been shot a few times and was purchased in 2020. The gun is just a bit too much recoil for my wife. We left Montana and are now living in Missouri. A .243 would suit her better here.
This is our home defense bedside drawer gun.
I took my wife out to the range with this gun and she could not hit the broadside of a barn with it. Which makes it about worthless as a defense weapon for her while I am away.
I would like to trade for a smaller caliber (9mm)? for her to be able to...

I walked back to camp somewhat frustrated I did not turn up any fresh sign or hear any bugles. I spoke with my buddy who did his own 8-mile scouting and glassing trip and he did not turn up anything either. Plan B was to hit a different area and the next day. After encountering many other...
Springing forward to the fall of 2020, I found myself driving from Kentucky with my wife, dad, and a good friend back to the breaks for my archery elk hunt. I was the only one with a tag and felt a bit of pressure since everyone was there to help me pack and glass. Unfortunately, I was the only...
The year I moved to Kentucky (2021) to start my master's degree on Silver Carp, I drew the 410 archery permit with 2 points. Dr. Outlander in Murray, KY gave me a spot he had hunted in 410 prior to OnX maps being readily available. He talked about how easy it was to call in a couple bulls every...
