Wondering how things turned out for your group? would you recommend this unit? evidently with all of the pressure, most people thing there is a decent chance of running into animals.
A burger sounds better than a mountain house for sure. Do you think you have to go to the "cone" to be successful in 3rd season or have elk started moving to private yet?
How did your hunt go? I hunted a few years ago for OTC and got into some elk, but really wasnt sure how i could physically pack them out of the basin that i was in.
some of the toughest country i've ever been in.
Looking at an OTC option for Elk this year here. Would y'all recommend staying in Norwood for a late season hunt? I am guessing the weather could get pretty gnarly.
How far is the drive from Norwood to Long Cone estimated with snow?
Looking at going OTC here for 3rd Rifle. It appears that there is alot of BLM land that is landlocked around private. Does anybody have any intel on if it is legal to gate a USFS Road to block out public land hunters?
Also do you have to draw a bear tag for 3rd season?
Just now seeing this thread. I have hunted Unit 70 in Colorado for elk in the late seasons and seen some tankers of mule deer bucks walking around out there.... All near the Lone Cone Peaks feeding/rutting.
