What is the preferred window to plan a spot and stalk spring bear hunt for in Idaho? I want a mountable bear.
I can only speak from one season of bear hunting experience in Idaho... so take my input with a grain of salt! I hunted a unit in the western portion of the state last season from May 16th-27th. I have never taken a muley. So I hope to be able to locate some going in blind. That being said, I won't turn my nose up at a whitetail. With this trip being planned last minute I'm going to try and decide on a particular region to hunt by this weekend. Any broad suggestions?- KyHunter98

Definitely expecting some frigid temps! Seems like the best advice I've read is to go in with low expectations and hunt hard wherever ya end up. I'll let ya know my take on muzzleloader season if I end up going.- KyHunter98

2021 Spring Bear Thread
Four days into my hunt I was able to connect with my first bear. I drove 33 hours from Kentucky to Idaho and have to say it was well worth it and I’m completely hooked on western hunting. Thanks to everyone who gave me some advice on here and helped me make it happen.- KyHunter98
