My best quick load out of my Model 7 20" barrel was 45.5 grains of W760 behind the 120 grain Sierra pro hunter and the 123 grain Hornady Amax speed of 2850 fps. This was only 1/2 grain under Quickload maximum so you would need to work up to that.
Well RCBS and Redding have written back and say they are too busy to contemplate new calibre dies, but CH4D have responded favourably. Will see how it goes.
Probably going to be a fair bit of snow in May, best bet is get a chopper on a short haul lift and you will get accurate info on animal numbers as well. Try James Scott he's one of the good guys.
Yep I wouldn't shoot a centre fire without one now, in saying that I still have 3 to get threaded a .243 a .257 and a custom 30:06 AI which I wont get done it's worth to much:)
Felt recoil in the .243 and .257 is more than in the suppressed magnum and other big calibre rifles.
Below my 7/08...
Since someone was talking 8 MM and FN Mauser on classic stocks, I'm doing one as well.
I know the front Schnabel looks bit blocky but I could only work with what I had, an old Parker hale stock and the front sling stud will screw in there anyway
I've just finished building one down here in New Zealand . This will be a dedicated Tahr and Chamois rifle so loading 130 Swifts and 140 Amax only .
I get 3150 with the Swifts and 3200 with Amax no pressure signs using N560.
24 inch 1/ 8.5 twist barrel with suppressor built on a Parker Hale...
I shoot a Remmy model 7 shortened to 18" and suppressed, I use 130 Speers behind a full load of ADI 2206H (IMR4895) 1/2 inch groups. It's sighted in 2 inches high at 100 yds and hits 3 " low at 300.
