2025 spring bear thread
If they are used to you baiting then bait it make a little noise go sit down and shoot the bear. I killed a bear 7 minutes after baiting and making noise in Idaho a couple years ago. Bonus points if you can talk someone into walking in with you and then make some noise on the way out.- jpc01101

For the guys running the Single Shot .410s
This for an adult or kid? My Dad has that one and my only gripe is that big tall rail, my kid has to hold his head off of the gun to see the dot...head just floating no contact with gun.- jpc01101

300 Blackout Bolt action, suppressed. Good short range stand gun for my wife/kid?
I ended up with a Ruger American Gen 2 and the kids loves shooting it suppressed with subs. Haven’t shot anything with it yet but will be slaying prairie dogs in WY hopefully in June and maybe even a bear if I can get one coming to bait in ID. -

Dad has a Stevens. Amazing gun for like $200. We killed 6 birds with it this year. Amazing little gun. Maybe it’s from bird hunting with a single shot when I was young but I can get another shell in pretty darn quick. 7mm Backcountry anyone?
My Dad got a weatherby in 7 Backcountry that he topped with a Zeiss 5-25. He shot it for the first time last night. We zeroed it with 3 shots and he was stacking bullet holes at 200 yds.
