Those spartan springbok quad sticks are crazy expensive (but sweet and you will never get more stead standing). There are alternatives. I brought 3 sets home from SA last year while I was there got them for like $50 US each. Let me see if I can find. these are essentially the same...- jpc01101

2026 NM unit 23 not burro coues hunt partner???

SW New Mexico deer question
I’d try velvalock I think and really just try not to touch it. Lift by ear and not the velvet antlers. I have a couple velvet whitetail and they all kept pretty good by just not touching the. Velvet at all. -

Also, all of my bear bait roads are closed or covered by downed trees so can’t say it has been a successful trip this far. But I have been in the mountains so success is relative. Head home Tuesday and I’m ready for KY springtime.- jpc01101

Rec for Elk Trip for Father
Call Milligan Brand in Chana, NM they have a comfortable lodge and have access to enough private that your Dad won’t have trouble getting on an elk. The only issue would be trophy quality. A 300” bull is absolutely possible but they kill a lot of 6x6 270-280 bulls. -

The boy and I doubled this AM. He smoked one and his buddy hung around long enough for me to grab the .410 and rack another round in. Also, my Dad was there with us. Core memory stuff right there guys!!- jpc01101
