Archery Grouse on the Kenai

I second practicing in the wind. Last time I went was 2021. Shot my pronghorn when it was dead still. My son ranged a huge buck at 343 yards and tried to hold on him in a 30-40 mile crosswind. Finally had to give up. He finally got his at 212 yards in a 20 mile crosswind. I cant 'remember... -

As I understand it, there's no current evidence, either historical or paleontological, to show the Jaguar has had a significant presence in the United States. Successful draw WY Area 68 Antelope!
Goats move from the higher elevations in the SE to the lower elevation north off of the escarpment. If going early, I'd hunt the SE above Beaver Divide. Later in the season I'd move north through the "pass". I'd look at some other units if I had 10 points and was looking for a trophy animal... -

Dallas/Fort Worth eats?
Pre and Post race traffic. After that Fort Worth is no where near as bad a Dallas, Houston or Austin. Or El Paso when the interstate is blocked.- jnd1959

Off the shelf or DIY first aid kit?
I buy and add to it. I remember hearing a medic or corpsman say the mantra two is one and one is none. Have at least two of everything critical, like tourniquets and quick clot, needles and some suture material or super glue and bandage or gauze. Everything else is based on experience. You should draw. I've drawn every year I've put in. I'll be back again in January for coues and I expect javis. I've never had luck blind calling, besides spot and stalk is way more fun.- jnd1959

Texas Rabbit Hunting info
In the national forest, find areas with grassy cover in lower elevations. I've seen rabbits in the same places as squirrel live.
