North Carolina has confusing and shit gun laws (but getting better). SC has a far better political structure, Governor checks and balances. Less regulatory friction, weaker executive power, more permissive carry laws, and more consistent, restrained courts. Nicer people. Better climate.
Walking our local sea islands near Edisto SC, I came across several piles of these, each scattered within a few square yards of each other. I know what they are and how they formed. Each is cone-shaped and extremely dense. Any guesses? :)
Torque to UM new torque spec of 55 IP and done. Nothing to do with the design or limitation of UM rings, only torque setting. Sportsmatch are slipping at 38 on some calibers.
For the Tikka dovetail, you need enough (more) torque to prevent slipping. UM hardware is strong enough for that torque.

Unknown Munitions mounts work great on the dovetail. Other quality rings (Sportsmatch) well also. Hundreds of examples on Rokslide of real experience doing this.

Varsity wrestler sophomore year (my first year ever trying it). I was naturally pretty good. But I had to hitchhike home after practice. Parents never attended a single match. Undefeated right up until I quite. It was a great lesson in terrible parenting. :cool::ROFLMAO:
As kids we rode ours bareback with a figure 8 of whatever rope we could find as a bridle. We'd chase deer on horseback with our little 30 pound stick bows, shooting light target arrows from 100 yards away. No deer were ever harmed.
Our fat old bay mare loved to get up to a decent trot downhill...
It's a great accomplishment. Whether you use it or not, you have it for life. You're in a good position to do it. Definitely go for it while you can.
