    2026 Garden

I do have blackberries slowly ripening. Had to put up the deer fence to keep them out.

    2026 Garden

Nice garden Bearfoot. But love the moose. Since we don't see them too often around here. At least they stay in the mountains so far. More worried about the bears this fall. No berries to be found I can see bears heading down into our area. No fruit on trees either. Didn't even get any choke...

Pulled the Armenians. Only found 2 cucumbers that were well hid. No others were found. Time to get rid of them. Pulled and drying onions they were all laying over it was time. Where did August go to?

Consistent watering or maybe over watering. But things are looking a little different already. Got short on garden food. Won't get anymore until next spring. Things have gotten so expensive that we have to save up to make big purchases. Living on a limited income in these times isn't fun. Don't...

    2026 Garden

WoW! That is quite the recipe. I book marked it. If I should get enough tomatoes ahead and find the time and a cool day. Pulled the green beans they are done producing. Pulled up the sunflowers. Actually not sure where or how I got them. They sure weren't the wildflowers that was suppose to go...

How do you make your sauce? Finally figured out what is causing my end rot on tomatoes and peppers. A lack of calcium. 1 tablespoon to half gallon or so of water in a hand sprayer and douse the plants. We'll see how well it works. My tomatoes are starting to ripen now. More salsa to come. Green...

    Golden Retriever vs. Cockleburs

Try kids no more tangle spray to ease the cockleburs and other things out. Had a shetland pony get his tail totally full of cockleburs. Took me over a year to get them out. You didn't want to get hit by his tail.

9 pints of salsa this morning. Picked 7 or so Armenian cucumbers. Got .19 rain yesterday, day before .11. Sitting here watching the clouds turn black and rumble and waiting for more rain. Yahoo!!

Public Land Shooting and High Fire Danger

Come August we don't go out much and do anything for fear of starting a fire. We absolutely don't shoot on public land anymore. I know of several fires started by shooters/hunters in Idaho alone. In Stage 1 restrictions you're not suppose to smoke outside of a vehicle. STOP! Think! Just go to a...

    2026 Garden

Pulled out the lettuce. Getting old and bitter. Decided to pull 3 plants of the gherkins. We can't keep up and people are starting to be leery of us. Don't need more veggies. Cut several feet off the Armenian cucumber vines. All male flowers not producing much. Picked green beans. Flowering...

buckbull, use diatomaceous earth on your plants. It's safe for kids and animals. I bought a sprayer for aphids and a 4lb bag off of Amazon. Harris-diatomaceous earth food grade and a sprayer. It'll help with all the squash bugs.

buckbull, you're such a show off. Really that is good looking veggies. Good going. The turtle pic was kind of a shock. My mini personal watermelon are growing along with the cantaloupe. Finally getting Armenian cucumbers. My gherkins are doing their usual going crazy and producing. Just happy...

I wish we could see 5 miles down to less than a mile here for the 4 or 5th day now.
