    Just ordered $400 worth of seeds and other items from one company. Warm today but still too early and cold for plants. My local store I usually buy plants from burnt down the other night. Don't know if they saved the greenhouses or not? So I have to start my seeds to be on the safe side this year.

    I'm to the same spot. I'm done hunting elk. I did go and help the other half last fall. Just to hard on the body. I'll still chase my deer and upland game birds. We're both in our late 60's with no young friends or kids. So getting help isn't there.

    brymoore, good deal on the tenting. I've done that for several years with lettuce with a winter blanket and it was already inside a small hothouse. It's always surprising come spring. If we were closer we would have taken a bunch of pears. Other half loves them. Good job on pressing them.

    I had some beet seeds that I had planted. Never came up. Then after a bunch of rain I have beets popping up. The seed laid dormant all summer.

    Good for you JShane. I enjoy my seasons and a break. But I still don't have to worry about gators, hurricanes and whatever else creepy crawlers you have down there.
