Newest US Senate Land Sale Amendment

I presume they are going to force a vote on an amendment to strike the land sale section (after the vote to proceed so amendments can be offered) and we should easily have the votes to strike it...but maybe it's not that straight forward?

Newest US Senate Land Sale Amendment

I like the idea of forcing a vote via amendment on floor to strip public land sales...Im confident it will get stripped and I hope the vote is 99-1. Either way it will force all Senators to go on record so we know who might support Lee in the future.

Newest US Senate Land Sale Amendment

Mike Lee seems set to die on this hill. He is now claiming conservative influencers are being paid to oppose...what an idiot. Even saw Ted Nugent opposed. Sounds like Lee is definitely going to revise his land sale language in an attempt to salvage. Hopefully all his colleagues tell him to just...

Newest US Senate Land Sale Amendment

Let's all keep (politely) calling...I feel like this is becoming way too much headache for anyone but Lee. Foot on the gas!

Don't let an accident become a tragedy

Great video! For many years, I was a strong advocate for carrying a round in the chamber and even debated against the idea of an empty chamber on this very forum. However, my perspective has evolved, and now, more often than not, I choose to carry with an empty chamber while in the field. Funny...

How do you determine who is shooter?

Whatever the method, it is best to discuss well before-hand, not once an animal is in view. I've gone with whoever spots gets to pass/shoot for rifle, alternate setups/days with archery elk calling, etc. Having something figured out well in advance minimizes lost opportunity and hard feelings.

    Ditching GoHunt

That's fair - but they lost me forever as a subscriber when they sat on their hands re: corner crossing. The silence was deafening.

Raffle tags - yeah or nay?

That's awesome! I have no doubt that funds raised from most raffles (and auctions) do go to good projects - and what a great example you provide here. However, my issue is that western State fish and wildlife agencies have a lot of resources and a lot of ways to generate revenue...

Raffle tags - yeah or nay?

No, I do not believe for a second the funds raised move the needle one bit AND I also believe if the revenue were actually critical, there are many more ways to get it than pimping wildlife, AND I think the average beneficiary loses more than they 'receive' when it comes to raffle (or auction)...

Fresh Tracks Weekly - Conflicted Wildlife Trustees (Commissioners)

I enjoyed the video - even though it's one of the only times I can recall not quite seeing eye-to-eye with your take on a public land/wildlife policy issue. It is an interesting, thought-provoking topic. I still see a major difference in private v. public trustees as the much more...

Fresh Tracks Weekly - Conflicted Wildlife Trustees (Commissioners)

I think this episode is a little too biased via the lens of a CPA with common private trust asset management/fiduciary standards while somewhat ignoring our political system and differences between public and private assets/trusts/beneficiaries. The checks and balances on political appointees...

Proposed Big Game Season Structure (BGSS) 2025-2029 - Colorado

Is it clear what the 2nd/3rd/4th rifle deer seasons for 2025-2029 BGSS will be or is there still uncertainty? I saw an appendix from/for the April 5 meeting that listed the staff recommendation (reverting back to old season structure) and a 'commissioner' proposal that more closely resembled the...

Wyoming looks toward hunting agreement with tribes.

https://wyofile.com/wyoming-tribal-impasse-over-hunting-rights-persists-despite-judicial-order/ Sounds like not much progress. I do hope the State and Tribes can work cooperatively on harvest and wildlife management. Wyoming officials would do themselves a favor if they recognized the scope...

    Muley Freak in trouble?

Agree. I have a hard time supporting companies that graft on to influencers who turn out to have a history of multiple wildlife related offenses. Mtn Tough could have 10 Randy's...but 1 poacher...and if they knowingly support the poacher, I won't be buying any of their products. Unfortunate...
