Appreciate the heads up! Given timing, the main scouting will be just before the hunting opener and then roll right into the hunt from there. Maybe a pre scout 2-3weeks prior if I'm able to swing it. I appreciate the input! Sounds like an elk hunt, ton of challenges with weather and terrain, still hope you enjoyed it even though the tag didn't get punched. Interested in if you were successful with filling this tag. Just drew late archery for unit 23. I plan on making a scouting trip or two to get boots on the ground beforehand. Newbie Elk Hunter needing help.
Recommend getting boots on the ground in WY if you can. So, the previously mentioned leftover cow tag is solid option! But if you're a rookie, any experience in any state will still help get your baseline up ability along with being in good physical shape. Our group drew WY two years ago...- Hammer37

Counting myself pretty lucky since card got hit Wednesday morning! Now waiting to see which choice hit, non-resident that had 2 bonus points for AZ and took a swing at some great hunts vs the ultra-premier lifetime hunts. Figured was better off going for 5% odds vs the 0.1% chance odds...- Hammer37
