The Rifle you haven’t shot in a long, long time…but should!
All of them. I’ve shot my Sako carbines- .308 and .338 twice in the past two years..2 shots, two cow elk. There is something wrong with this picture. The ignored leader is the AR-50 I won 7 years ago. It remains unfired. Scoped, ammo, no bipod (only excuse) unfired. -

My son and I both took our cow elk with .338’s last Sunday. They worked just fine. -

I will, plan was to get him today, but we got involved with another home project. Looks like Tuesday. I’ll keep an eye out for lefty carbines in serious calibers!- GoWyo!

Painting a rifle stock
I like your work guys! I’ve got a pair of McMillans I need to paint. One I’ve had since ‘93 the other I found @4 years ago. Both for AV Sakos, older stock has been on my 7mm. New one going on a .338 WM. Taking lots of notes. -

.338 Win Mag will always be in the rotation, especially when hunting on the left side of the state. For those of us with kids that hunt and shoot, we can hopefully keep the love alive, pass them along . Those without will have to decide what to do with their collections. I don’t see a... -
2025 WY Moose, Sheep, Goat Results
Congrats all, I’m also oiled and my son is buying pp’s this year. No joy on Buff and MGoats. That said, we still have a lot of moose(and elk)in the freezer. Looking forward to reading about these hunts! Gary- GoWyo!

What is your take on the new 7mm Backcountry?
I’ve spent years hoarding…accumulating the components necessary to allow me and my son to shoot a wide assortment of calibers as we please. .224 thru .45-70. We dont need some new-fangled whiz-bang wondergun upsetting our apple cart! Get off my lawn! -

I’ve found two AI vixen sporters in 6 PPC USA, you have to watch the auction sites and forums. Faithfully. Don’t be afraid to post some want to buy posts as well. So these days, the 6 ARC is the hot item. Not a ton of difference from the Grendel or PPC, but you’ll likely have a faster... -
First elk
Thanks all, He did great. He also jumped in on butchering both cows. (I got a hot, young cow that evening) He ground a bunch of burger, sausage and brauts, along with the steaks. Everything turned out excellent! I was worried about the cow I shot, she was in full estrous. Removed her lower...
