Thank you for the great responses. I would be working and living in SLC. Compared to MN I'm thinking this would be a good first step to living out west. Keep posting if you have more info....anyone know how decent the fishing is?
Any have any advice on moving to Salt Lake City? I have a job offer that may be too good to turn down. I'm a DIY hunter and I'm thinking being a UT resident may be a good thing for hunting in the state. Please share your opinion of Utah.
Thanks!
When I hunted Nebraska last spring - a farmer told me there is so many out there that a lot of people shoot (poach) them with high powered rifles because they cause so much crop damage. Find a nice creek or river corridor and some public land - you'll be happy. I got 3 toms in one morning.
I'm in agreement - the only way I found OYOA was by a chance viewing of that episode at a friends house. That is an excellent "classic" episode. I hope we see a lot more of that quality in the future.
Be ready to hike and hike some more. If there isn't too much snow - hit the road going up to the NW of Logan Mtn. There is a big patchwork of private and public. If you can find a deal - try to have horses ready to help you pack out. Great unit - but there are wolves and Mr. Griz.
I'm finding as I get older and chasing more quality / mature animals - the more I'm satisfied with eating a tag - just to be out in wide open spaces with a gun or bow in my hands. Great story. thanks.
