Thanks for the info. I just can't do a typical mummy bag, feels like I've been shoved in a game bag, and I wallow around to much at night. Why? Too heavy/bulky? Looking at the specs for the down version it seems as though it will compress pretty good and isn't too terrible heavy. Again...- firehuntinmedic

Buzz I agree with you completely! We probably saw 50-100 animals a day at varying distances, so they are for sure still there. I found it a bit strange that every day we would see a whole herd of hunters circling the big flat between roads 9 and 7 from all directions, maybe they didn't know...- firehuntinmedic

DIY Audad Hunt
There are over the counter Barbary tags available here in New Mexico that allow you to hunt from April to March of the following year. Granted the areas that you can hunt with OTC tags have fewer animals and is usually a tougher hunt but what the heck, you have a freaking year to figure it out...- firehuntinmedic

The hunt was the "once in a lifetime" on the Rhodes Canyon portion of White Sands Missile Range. Got lucky and drew out, then got lucky and tagged out. Very exciting, tough, frustrating, and fun hunt all at the same time. Glassed up several bedded down at the base of a big hill/small mountain, made an over the top stalk and was able to seal the deal with one shot at 320yrds.- firehuntinmedic

CO leftovers
Quick question. I was looking at the goat "leftovers" as well as the surface ownership maps. Sure looks like there are a lot of tags in the SE with not much hunt-able public ground. Any suggestions?
