Elk and rain?
My experience light rain cools things down and elk will move about. Heavy rain will have them in cover...however they'll move about in timber as it tends to shelter some of the rain. I'm a UT guy too...been watching the weather closely. If it cools down we may have a great rifle opener with a... -

Why scent control/elimination is a sham..
well...I'm guilty of the swamp ass after a week in the back country. That right there can cause your hunting buddy to pass out and fall of a cliff if he's hiking in too close.....cause I'm hiking into the wind!- Diaz

Why scent control/elimination is a sham..
Its about the wind out west....all the scent control out there will fail if the wind is on your back after an hour hike up a hill and your sweating up a storm....just saying.- Diaz

That is elk hunting indeed! I live and hunt in Utah on general tags. We start out the season in June setting cameras in many walk-in areas. We move the cameras around until we find the cows...find the cows and the bulls find them...bingo, right? NOPE....these critters are way smart. They move...- Diaz

game bag questions
Never use trash bags! Plastic does not allow the meat to air...therefore will not cool. You need that meat to cool as quickly as possible. Meat that is allowed to retain heat will sour...and therefore develop the "gamy taste" people complain about. You can use old pillow cases if you want to...- Diaz

Had to Say Good bye
Dude....I hear you. I put by best friend down during the elk hunt last year. Doing that...saying goodbye was heartbreaking. I cried like a little kid.
