Choke recommendations for a 20ga turkey gun with tungsten

So, I’ve bought a Winchester SXP Turkey in 20ga, it comes it a factory “turkey choke” I’m assuming is extra-full thought I can’t find any actually numbers on it anywhere. I’ll give it a try but at the end of the day I’ll probably want a “better” custom choke from one of the fancy choke...

    Ammo and the 2021 season

Idk, either I’ve had what I needed already(which a lot of it I did) or I’ve just gotten lucky finding stuff that I need. I’ve gotten GMM LR Mag primers since this thing started, I just last week bought 1k GMM LP primers. I’ve been finding powders I need. I even bought 4lbs of Retumbo a couple...

    Custom load development business?

Nice I’d never heard of them. Hammers are the definitely the only ones I had seen. I ended up with 177gr HH to shoot out of my 28 Nosler, I have those and some 195 Bergers that I’m going to give a go.

    Arizona CC Hits

What’s weird about that is it had me down with 9 points last year and 8 points this year. No clue how that works. I only applied for a BP this year also so I’ll give it some time before I start griping at them.

    Arizona CC Hits

Well that’s weird. Looks like I drew my bonus points.

    Bear Sidearm

I carry both during archery. If things get hairy I’ll have bear spray in one hand and the gun in the other. Either way, if it’s a situation where there’s less than 3 seconds to react you’re screwed with either option because that’s a pretty short amount of time. I think either is a wash, it’s...

    Pistol Holster

You know his holster for almost any bino harness so you don’t need a yet another harness. They don’t come with a harness it’s just a holster. I’m not sure if that’s what you were implying but that’s how I read it. Forgive me if I misinterpreted.

    Pistol Holster

Check out Razco and his Gen 2 holster. He designed it so it can be worn with the bino harness and then you can take the system off and run it just as a chest holster. He also makes just plain chest holsters. I just order a couple for a couple new pistols.

    Shotgun recommendations

I’d be giving the Winchester SX4 or SX3 a look and also the Franchi Affinity. I guess it depends what you’re going to do with it but I’d get a 3.5” gun, no sense in limiting yourself if you ever feel the need to shoot 3.5” shells, I’ve been there many times.

Reloading room setup - looking for ideas

Well, what’re the details? Sounds interesting. Barrel make, stock make, trigger, chamber? Any other stuff you’ve done to it like bed the action?

Maybe I'm the one who's nuts... thoughts on the great ammo & reloading run of '21

I think there’s some desperate people out there and they’ll do what they have to do to get the things they need. Luckily I have plenty of primers for most of the stuff I shoot. I think I now have guns that use every size of there is. Somehow I keep finding primers here and there, just today I...

    Custom load development business?

Yeah, check out Hammer Bullets, they charge $500 but they apparently get great results. I was in the shop there talking to Steve not long ago and it really sounds like he has a solid process ironed out. I bought a couple boxes of their bullets and am excited to give them a try. They’re CNC lathe...

Reloading room setup - looking for ideas

I built mine using the wall for the back legs. I used sheets of plywood ripped in half, two layers of 1/2” on top for rigidity. This measures 8’Lx2’W, the other side of the room has all my smithing stuff, and is 13’ long. I have more than enough room and I could put a couple more presses in...

Reloading equipment setup for a beginner?

I’d assume that you’ve got this figured out a while ago, but maybe you haven’t. A real simple setup such as the RCBS Master reloading kit is really a great starter setup. It has ALMOST everything you’d need to get going. Add a powder trickler, calipers, trimmer and dies and you’ll be on your way...
