Just received notice that I drew a tag for units 32, 36 & 37 for an October hunt. Any help would be appreciated as I have never hunted the areas with the exception of the upper portion of 32 for Pronghorn.
I plan on DIY public land and not afraid to put some miles on foot...
I appreciate all recipes for wild game. My neighbor provided some great slow cooked pork, but I am always challenged by wild game containing so little fat.
Any help with using a pellet grill with wild game is also appreciated.
Always on the quest for the perfect rifle, I find it is less about the caliber than the feel. For me, Sako rifles fit the need the best, but as a looney it is a constant search.
I have tried Barnes, Nosler E-Tip and Federal Trophy Copper. The Trophy Cooper is actually a Nosler E-Tip that Federal cuts grooves in.
I took a cow elk with the 140gr Trophy Copper in 7mm-08, and the exit wound was double that of the entrance.

I also keep track of the thunderstorms in the unit. If there is good rain, the smaller tanks will hold water and the Pronghorn will be able to use a larger area. Get out and scout for tracks to determine which tanks are being used. Good luck!

The Federal Trophy Copper is a Nosler E-tip with additional pressure relief grooves added by Federal. The Trophy Copper factory rounds shot great, but I am struggling with getting E-Tips to be as consistent. Federal does not sell their version of the E-Tip for hand...
