Ones that got away
Passed this guy up. Had already shot a moose that year, so I didn't need the meat, and there was a bigger buck I was targeting. I should clarify that my statement is true assuming the vessel was of a typical size and going a typical speed as would be expected in the area. Being a major port, I assume this was a typical vessel that you would expect to see coming in or out. A vessel study would be done to know size...- Bowhuntrben

Cost and risk play into it, but the forces for these vessels are included in modern designs. Can be a combination of dolphins and the pier itself to resist the forces. I'm pretty sure this bridge pre-dates when vessel collision forces (certainly those of this magnitude) were included in the design code. I don't know what would've been included for it, but it certainly wouldn't have been designed by today's standards.- Bowhuntrben

Are you OK with cow moose? If so, yes, apply. Colorado has realistic draw odds. Outside of cow moose, I wouldn't waste my money on any state with a points system. Save your money and just buy a hunt some day. Or go to Alaska, but I'm guessing that's likely not a super cheap option even if...- Bowhuntrben

Africa. I really have no desire to hunt there. It would be cool to go there and see the wildlife though. Just no interest in shooting anything. No splitting for moose. I will build points for my kids for other species and am planning to split most of my points with them where I can. I agree with Buzz, though. Moving to a state with the species you want to hunt is the real solution long-term if that is your priority.- Bowhuntrben
