    January NM rut hunt?

So its getting close to January and I'm headed to NM to meet up with a buddy and chase some deer around in Unit 21 with the stick and string. Looking for ANY info on the unit, the deer population, or really anything. Never hunted NM, never been to this area, just seeing if anyone has been down...

New Mexico January Bow Hunt ???

Cody, thanks a ton for the info!! Very much appreciated. Very glad to hear we may actually see a deer or two. I'm planning on sending my buddy out to do some scouting and when we get there it will be boots on the ground and put on the miles hoping to find one of those pockets.

New Mexico January Bow Hunt ???

Hey all, so a buddy of mine moved to NM a year ago and is having a kid so he isn't exactly "hitting it hard" this next year. So when I saw leftover NM tags I told him we should just do it. I've never been to NM and expect this hunt to be difficult based on the survey numbers I've already looked...

    Western Hunter for Life

Well, I'm back from my first western hunt after just moving to Colorado a year ago. Elk Camp near Meeker, CO. I drove out Wednesday evening for the 4th rifle season with a cow tag and a pile of gear. The guys in camp had scouted Tuesday and hunted the opener. The area outside of Meeker has one...

Hi Randy, first of all, I love your show and everything you stand for on public land/DIY adventures. Just saw the Bison hunt episode and noticed your rifle carrier on your hipbelt. What the heck is that I need one. Thanks!

    CO GMU 11 Advice?

So, the crew picked the dates, and the area, and I'm along for the ride. I probably have the most hunting experience out of the bunch, but not in the mountains and not for elk. So basically a bunch of newbies headed out into the middle of nowhere to chase around some elk. We've got a mix of bull...

MT Biking For Bulls In Wyoming?

I'm a pretty serious mountain biker and mechanic and I have a doctor buddy who hunts and rides pretty hard. He wanted a sweet set up so we built up a pretty much dream set up. Surly Pugsly (perfect for any/all terrain and handing heavy loads off trail) and we hooked him up with an ATV style bow...

Flood? Oh well, lets try to shoot a goat.

Well I made it out for one short day of chasing lopes. Flat terrain and first timer mistakes = tag soup. But dang that was fun! My home made decoy seemed to interest them quite a bit. First hour was spent creeping along trying to stay low, then popping up the decoy and twice it resulted in the...

Flood? Oh well, lets try to shoot a goat.

Ha! Must be Friday the 13th or something.... Work responsibilities arrive in the morning followed by a vehicle that apparently has quit working, not to mention I don't think the city officials, nat guard, and other authorities wanted me/would let me leave town. Every force against me and this...

Flood? Oh well, lets try to shoot a goat.

Heading out tomorrow morning. This is the only weekend that really works into the schedule so here goes nothing. All of the front range is flooding and its a mess everywhere with almost a straight week of rain fall. So here we go out onto the rolling prairie hoping that a) i can get there, and...

    Colorado Elk First Timer

Hey all, been poaching the site for a while here and figured I'd jump in. Just moved to Ft Collins a year ago from Michigan's UP. Now with residency cannot wait to start chasing something other than whitetails! Due to my schedule I wont have a week or two to head out so I'm trying to balance...
