    Pie Town, Life is Good.

It was good. This comes from a guy that has his own bakery where we make thousands of apple pies a year. The apples and ice cream take the heat out of the green chilies. If you get a chance, try it.

    Pie Town, Life is Good.

I saw this post last Thursday and mentioned it to my wife. Friday afternoon we headed to Pie Town from our cabin in Alpine. The time change almost got us, but we made it by 4:30. We enjoyed the drive and the green Chile/apple pie and ice cream. Thanks for posting!

    Elk Hunt Unit 1 Arizona

I have killed several bulls on the unit 1 archery hunt. My experience was the later, the better. I have been hiking in unit 1 and 27 this past week and it is very wet and green. The elk seem to be dispersed because of this. Congratulations on getting my tag, you should have a great hunt!

    Build your own!

I purchased 10 tickets on 8/29. For less than $8/day, I got to plan and dream about my next custom rifle and at the same time help the RMS of Colorado. That's a good deal! My only question is when can we do this again?

HELP!!! Plumbing Issue, Main Water Supply Line

I have started running my DIY plumbing projects , both irrigation and domestic water, through a free on line program called "Pressure loss in straight liquid lines". 1800' is a long ways in a 1" to 1 1/4' line. Mr Google says that the average household water demands are 6-12 gpm. Using 9 gpm...

Rural New Home Build—School Me Up

I'm kind of a DIY guy. I built a house for my family in 1977, subbing out only a few things. I then planted an orchard on the property. When the trees started bearing, I built a 7000 square foot building with a commercial bakery, walkin cooler, a sales area and a gift shop. Over the years I...

    How old is this ram?

If you look at Slatebuilders great first photo, you can see a deep ring at the 10 o'clock position, about where the ear goes behind the horn. This is the 4 year ring. There are 2 rings between that ring and the base, making him a 6 year old.

    How old is this ram?

The lowest or first ring that is visible on this ram is the 3 year ring. Sometimes it is prominent as it is on this ram. The ring above is the 4 year, it is a deeper ring. As far as score, I like how my son, the sheep guide, says it, "Everybody sucks at scoring live sheep, some people just...

    How old is this ram?

I believe his 4 year ring is at the 10/2 o'clock position on his horns. I can see 2 age rings above that, so I go with 6. Great looking sheep in his prime. He could be more impressive in 2-3 years.

    Aerial Sheep Survey Crash

Sad news, praying for the families. In my opinion it is the most dangerous and the most exciting part of the job. I had two close calls while flying sheep survey and capture during my career with Arizona and lost several coworkers and friends. Hate to hear it.
