Travel Insurance
I looked into it last year before going to Greenland. Seemed pretty pricey, and I'd have to have a pretty serious health issue to not go on a planned hunt. For me, a health issue with aging parents would be more likely and not covered anyway. I always get refundable airfare and call it good.- ashersdad

Goodbye Black Diamond. - School me on headlamps
I love my fenix and have used black diamonds as well. I had to get some cheaper headlamps when I was a scoutmaster and I have been impressed with the EverBrites. Now I carry a backup one in each of my packs. Pretty cheap insurance for $15...- ashersdad

Bad Guides and Experiences
I've been on quite a few guided hunts over the last 15 years. Most in Alaska, a handful in Canada and one in Greenland. I can honestly say I would gladly hunt again with any of the guides I have had over the years. Several have turned into lifelong friends. I consider myself lucky.- ashersdad
