What's this unit like for whitetail? Not looking for a big buck just a nice deer. Heck would be happy just doe hunting but you can't get a doe tag for public ground correct? Wyomings deer regs are confusing. Between elk and antelope hunts we hope to do we are going to have a couple down years and looking to keeping heading to wyoming.

region A you mean? units 1-6. I hunted there this year for the first time hunting deer in wyoming. I hunted the black hills with a co worker and we had a lot of fun. We saw quite a few deer, a few nice whitetail. If you put on the miles youll get away from others an get a feel for where they are. Coworker shot a 4x4 and I got a pretty nice 5x4. It was busy where we were but like i said once i got away from roads we didnt see anyone. I enjoyed the hunt and wouldnt hesitate going back again.

I hunted Region A this year also. Lots of whitetails in the Black Hills. It was crowded though. But, just find a locked gate and hike until you stop seeing boot prints and you'll find the deer.

Nice thing is you needn't use points there; put an "impossible dream" unit on as first choice (which there is always a tiny chance you could get) then Region A as second choice.
Hunting partner of mine has been going up there the last few years and loves it. Access can be challenging but it's no where near impossible.

The last sentence of this quote will surely get you a ticket from the game warden. Antlerless hunting is allowed on private land only in Region A.
