I recently just switched jobs and received another 8 days of vacation, my dad and I are already planning a WY mule deer and antelope hunt. But... with this addition time off and the fact he's retired, I decided we're going to do a WY cow elk hunt, type 6 to save our PP.

Now he's 65, runs every day, and this year in colorado we were in unit 211 and I had to go slow at times but he made it all 9 days, we logged maybe 60-70 miles and he was right there. Now I was looking into some units, 61, 67 but it the description worries me because it says steep and rugged and that ATV are recommended(we don't have one) and horses may be required to pack meat out. I'm thinking these units are probably a no go.... The next unit I was looking into was 94 where the dleslcription makes it seem less steep. But.... The season is a bit early for our liking trying to hunt the whitetail rut as well. I looked at the other type 6 license 12/1-1/31, where it's held in the big piney but it says HMA permission slip required, the application started on 11/11/16, now is that for the 2016 season?

Also... I'm trying to read the draw odds correctly and when I'm looking at the possibility of drawing a type 6 tag and it shows what I copied in below, that means that if all first and second choice applicants get a tag then there is 159-79-21=59 tags still left so it's 100% draw odds based on last year?

Nonresident Cow/Calf Random Draw
Hunt Type: 6
Total Quota: 159
First Choice Applicants: 79
Second Choice Applicants: 21
Third Choice Applicants: 0

Thanks in advance guys!
