I was scrolling through the hunting shows Saturday and watched the "host" take this shot at 35 yds and was very proud about it.

Any guesses who this was? Classic Texas Heart shot?

quartering away, put it on the last rib and let'er fly... alittle bit farther back than I would like but its a dead deer...... its all personal ethics and how comfortable you are with taking certain shots, practice and witts during the shot all come into factor, I can't say if I would take that shot, cuz i'm not looking through his eyes "the shooter", in my opinion if this host only shoots 1 every two weeks during the offseason than no, maybe if the host shoots 4-5 times a week and knows his limitations etc.... than he made an ethical kill shot, that deer is dead for sure, may take alittle bit, looks too me maybe liver and 1 lung...

got to remember the camera isn't the hunter. if there were no limbs in my way I would have no problems with it.

A "Texas Heart shot" is best done with a rifle and not a bow, aim right where the tail connects to the body...or better yet, just wait for a good broadside/quartering shot so there is no question.
My 2 cents.
