Wild hog ham on the smoker

I would season it and smoke it not brined.

Hi Mountain makes some brown sugar brines that might be good on feral hog.

Does anyone have a wild hog ham brine recipe to share?
Maybe try DeerMeatForDinner's YT channel? He does a lot of wild hog/pig episodes and almost all are catch-clean-cook, so maybe you could glean a recipe or at least inspiration for your own. I know garlic and onion are almost constants. He adds lemon, too, as I recall. He favors Everglades seasonings, but I've also seen him use Cajon seasonings too. Good luck!

A citrus marinade (timestamp to start) from a recent episode...

Thanks for the tips. My wife usually cooks them in the crock pot with onions and a store bought broth. The natural flavor is great so I'm looking to enhance it some. If you miss the timing in the crock pot you end up with a flavorful chunk of rubber. I was thinking maybe a brine could add some moisture and tenderness. A little added complimentary flavor never hurts either.
