Saturday found 3 of us hunting some private ponds on the middle Boise River. More birds and other hunters in the vicinity that we have ever experienced. We whacked our birds by 9:30ish. We'd have been done earlier cept frequent bunches working us flared at gunshots from other hunters nearby. I even got our "rookie" to whack "smiling mallard" when I told him it was a juvenile cinnamon teal. Photos surely could have been posted had I checked my camera batteries prior to the hunt.
Next time.

Way to go Wally Dog. What kind of birds were you killing?

We are starting to get some new birds in the area, with quite a few mallards coming in. Friday night I was out and picked up a pintail and 5 mallard drakes. One of the greenheads was wearing a band, so it was a good afternoon.

Well better get to cleaning some birds and spark up the dehydrator. I am up to 35 ducks for the year and jerky is the only way I can get that many down.

WALLY.. KUDOS man !!!! I will find myself out to the river later in the year.. right now, Too busy eith RAL hunting ;) (BIG GAME)
