Went to the range the other day, and tried a couple new loads. Wanted to try the Barnes, since Kalifornia seems to be headed in the lead free direction.

I am running Barnes exclusively in my Howa 7mm. It loves the 145 gr LRX as is being pushed with 64 grains of RL22 at just under 3200fps. The great thing is it's accurate. I am also working up a load with the 168gr LRX as well. But be careful with those. Barnes is recommending a 1:9 twist for stability but so far I seem to be OK with 1:9.5. I have been in contact with Barnes via email and they have reassured me that if there were any stability issues they would have reared their ugly head already. The load is with 70gr of H1000 at 3050fps. Both are set .050 off the lands which is the recommended starting point. I still need to tweak the 168's a little to fine tune the accuracy.

I too shoot the Barnes 145 lrx in my 7 mm rem mag. I also have a 700 I put in a B&C Alaskan II stock. So far my load has been consistent at under moa with my last five shot group at 100 right at 3/4". I was able to shoot at a little over 500 yards last weekend and it held it's accuracy which made me very happy.

I am using RL22 65.5 grains and getting right at 3150 fps with a coal of 3.38
