My hunting buddy and I FINALLY drew a Idaho unit 45 buck tag for rifle. My buddy drew once before and got a nice 29 1/2" buck. However, then, the hunt was a full month LATER/with the rut in November and access to where he hunted is all shut down due to the local billionaire rancher that wants the whole mountain to himself. We just got back from scouting the area, seeing VERY FEW deer in the hills, covered hundreds of miles by RZR and foot. Saw 2 descent bucks on private, could never get a hold of anyone though. About a 30" 3x4 and a nice MAYBE 160 4x4 buck in that heard. Only saw little bucks and couple does in the hills. We know this is a migratory unit but everyone swears there is a good local deer population, we didnt see em. So, just wondering if anyone has hunted it and might have any info to contribute. The odds of drawing this tag are about once every 50 years! We even contacted the "wescoutforyou" guys but they had no openings. Thanks.
