Waterproof map printing?

Can anyone point me toward a reliable source where I can upload my own marked-up map files, satellite imagery views, and other references, to be printed on waterproof paper? I need 11x17 or larger paper.

I have a lot of points and paths saved. It's hard to see those on a handheld GPS or smartphone. Besides, I would like a backup map that isn't reliant on battery power or other potential points of failure.

If you have access to a printer, you may want to try this paper. If you order it, make sure you get it for your type of printer - either inkjet or laser. It is kind of pricey but it works great. I have used it for years for benchsheets, log books, and maintenance forms. Once it is printed, you can submerge it in water and the ink won't smear, nor will the paper get "wet"

Another thing - if you get a "rite in the rain" pen, you can actually write on it when it is wet (or underwater) if you need to make notes on the map while you are afield.

Fedex office I think they use to be kinkos?. Little pricy but can do it all and have a thick laminate that fits 11x17 perfect. Still using some for 4 years now

There's another company that can do it also, I think they can do custom maps but I need to see if I can find their info when I get home tonight. I think they are based out of Georgia.

That hunterra looks interesting, thx for that link.

OP - I have had waterproof maps printed from http://www.mytopo.com/index.cfm and been 110% happy with the product. I based my maps off data from my trimbleoutdoors account, but you can upload a .GPX file with your waypoints, tracks, etc., and overlay them on the basemap of your choice.

I realize this thread is rather old, but I was searching for the same thing. I actually registered here just to post this for anyone who is also looking for this info.

I wanted to have a 35" x 23" black & white map that I have in digital PDF form to be printed onto synthetic map paper. I found a place called Print Copy Factory (https://www.printcopyfactory.com/) that agreed to print the whole map on synthetic paper for $45. Hunterra looked great, but I think they wanted like $200. I'll update this post when I get the finished product.

Got the map, it looks great. I ran a little water over the corner of it, and it just beaded off. Really happy with the work.

It's very difficult to use. I mean, it takes a very long time to understand how it works. I was told that it is very difficult to understand the mechanism of its work. I was just thinking about buying purchasing this type of print. But I was dissuaded. They said I was going to have a hard time with it. And they said that to be better if I choose a regular print on https://www.mrdepot.ca/collections/brother-toner-cartridges. And I have been using a regular print for quite a long time. It's really cool quality.
