Seems I heard that Utah is instituting some draw hunts that are iron sighted rifle only. If you were going to put together a rifle for one of these hunts what sights would you use?

Rear peep and some sort of globe front I'm guessing, but which specifically?

Same here. Would use my marlin 45/70. It does have the 22 inch barrel with helps with irons. With how far I can reasonably shoot iron sights I am not really worried about the trajectory to much. Try to keep 3 inside 8/10 inch circle at 150 ( being realistic ) and I would be happy stay within that as the range with practice. They added a couple HAMSS straight wall iron sight units also.

Just read up on the HAMSS regs. Thanks for the info.

ccc23454, that looks like something that belongs in the Cowboys vs Aliens movie! :ROFLMAO:

I have several iron sighted rifle. One is a Rem. 700 ADL, but I'd have to put a rear peep on it (old eyes).

I'll probably never go to Utah. Just thought it is an interesting concept. I have been pondering a less is more attitude in my hunting weapons for awhile.

I've seen many of your posts, shrapnel, you've got a fine collection of shooting irons and obviously know how to use them. (y)
