Useful information you keep saved on your phone

While eating lunch with the wife today and having our usual small talk, the topic came up of keeping notes and useful information saved on your phone. What led to the discussion is how she keeps her grocery list on paper, which many times leads her to not wanting to stop by the store to pick up things while we're out because the list is always at home. Now, while I know making suggestions to the wife can be a very dangerous place to tread, I asked her why she doesn't keep a running list on her phone. I told her how I keep some of the information I need most often saved on my phone, things like the product number for every oil filter for everything we own that has one, the combination to open specific locks, account numbers (but no passwords), and even the key codes that a locksmith can use to make duplicate keys (including smart keys) to both of our vehicles.

So then, what types of useful note information do you keep on your cell phone for convenience or to get you out of a bind?

  • Vehicle tire size for all our rigs.
  • Date, mileage, and gallons of last fill up for Red Green. (No on board computer for MPG)
  • Dope chart for each of my rifles' go-to loads.
  • Running handloading component wish list.
  • Geo co-ordinates of where the bodies are buried.
  • Zoom URLS and passcodes for important calls.

My password sheet which includes pretty much everything I would ever need is included as an attachment on an unaddressed email in my email drafts. I do keep notes to myself in a text pinned to the top of my text threads. But if we have a hand written grocery list at home and I think there's a chance I MIGHT stop by the store, I just snap a pic of the list so I have it with me just in case.

My wife and I use a shared “Reminder” list for groceries on our iPhones. Either of us can add or mark off when shopping. This is a major upgrade from paper lists or trying to remember.

We also have lists in “Notes” that we are connected on. You can create bullet point lists that you can check and then uncheck. This is particularly helpful for lists that you use over and over again. We found them most useful for packing for camping and hunting trips.

Same. Very helpful. We’ve also got lists for house projects, various to-do lists, packing lists for trips, etc.

Primarily massive “shopping” and “to-do” lists. Whenever I see something like “tighten garage door knob” it has to go on the list within 30 seconds ore I’ve already forgotten.

Also, family medical history.

Very little as I don’t have my phone with me at least 50% of the time. Thankfully I’ve not grown attached to it like many.

Hunting list. Have it so I can check items as I pack them. Long list but it it helps me remember.
I suffer from short term memory loss of my long term memory!
