What is everyones opinion on buying a used bow. I have an ancient(16yr old) Golden Eagle bow, I would like to upgrade but don't want to spend more than $200-$300, any thoughts.

I think its a good idea. The number of people who trade off evey year or so is pretty high, so you should be able to pick up something fairly high end. If you had a budget of $400, I know you could find something good. I'd check the classifieds on archery talk, tons of bows available over there. Another option is to check local archery shops for past year closeouts.

Buying used is fine...just have it checked out (or check it out yourself). I just picked up a new 2009 model ready-to-shoot bow package for my dad and it was under $300.
