I saw that MMP had sabots for 50 cal that would work with this diameter. Gave it a whirl. Kicks like a frick'n mule. Oof-da ! I think I heard my teeth rattle. 50 cal Optima V2. Tool light of rifle. Shot pretty accurate though. 105 grains Triple 7. I've got three loads in this rifle that all shoot a 3" or less group at 100 yds. All basically the same poi. 260 grain SST .430, 245 grain SP .452. I think I'll shoot all three into some water jugs and see how the bullets react.

I have found them to be one of the more accurate out of mine. But the 290g Bore Rider FTX really shine. I would give them a shot to if you want. Muzzle-loader.com had them on sale this last week with free shipping.

I went out and shot some water filled containers today. The 325 FTX witch is designed for the 45-70 and the 265 FTX witch was designed for the 444 Marlin failed to mushroom effectively. They only opened to maybe .475. I'm sorry for listing the 265 FTX as a 260 SST. My bad. I picked up some Horn 250 SST and also shot the 245 .452 pistol bullet. The 250 SST designed for the muzzy worked best(go figure). The 245 pistol bullet was very violent and shed its jacket. I think I'll stick with the 250 SST. Its fun playing though. My eyesight and the no power scope are the limiting factor. I wouldn't have it any other way. Gotta keep it kind of traditional.
