Trapping Thread 2025/2026

Am I an idiot for inventorying all my sterling mj’s for a potential trade on a premium scope? It seems sacrilegious

Dislike!!!!!
I decided to move a few on a trade for a super nice Nightforce. I still have quite a few and I’m fortunate that whenever I want more, I can txt Glen Jr. and he’ll send me as many as I want direct. I have coyote traps coming out my ears, sometimes a little purge is needed. At least until coyotes are worth at least $50 again

My dad use to always say you can get into a fight with a skunk and you might win BUT YOU WILL STILL SMELL LIKE A SKUNK !!!!

I sold all my long springs a few years ago. The funds were invested into Swaro.

In my case, I switched how I was trapping and the long springs weren’t being used. Market price for them had risen significantly. I made a decent profit.

I sold some sterlings but kept some 500’s and 600’s back. Now I just need someone on here who wants to buy a dozen SVS cast #4’s and I’ll be good in the trap consolidation dept lol. I have to pay for ammo and guns and glass somehow

All bait and lures were frozen in the beer fridge for next winter...fridge went out. Imagine the smell in the garage...good lord!!! I vacuum sealed and put in the deep freeze, hope I don't regret that.

They’ll be fine

Well the boy did good tonight. First night of the state FFA convention he was the Area 1 winner and state runner up in Wildlife Management all the other kids were doing food plots and habitat work. He did trapping for his wildlife management project. Real proud of him. He also was selected to be a state officer. First from his school in 46 years

After a week of nothing, I got two big beavers last night for my highway department job. They must have been making their way back after the dam was torn out. I wouldn’t mind a couple more but wouldn’t be surprised if this is it.

I had the opportunity to release a front-foot caught snapping turtle the other day. A guy really needs 3 hands for that job when one of the levers is hidden under the shell and the turtle is in a bitey mood.
