I recently bought a 257 Weatherby as a dedicated antelope gun and will be going to the range in the near future to break it in and find a good bullet. I want to maximize the flat trajectory and am leaning towards either the 100 gr swift scirocco ii or the 92 gr hammer that weatherby ammo sells. I don’t reload fwiw. The lighter hammer has the higher initial velocity but the swift quickly catches and then beats it so im leaning towards that. It’s slightly cheaper too I think. Does anyone have experience with these and opinions on them. Accuracy is of course paramount as well so if one is much more forgiving, that may tilt the scales. Thx

I've never used the swift scirocco but loaded some Hammers for the first time this summer. I've been surprised by how accurate they are. I can also get better velocity out of them than other monos.

If you don't reload I would say buy a box of each and see which your rifle likes more. I think either would perform well on game.
