Storing meat in bear country

I've got a bear fence I can stick in the mail for you Nathan, if you think it'd be helpful. I'm not hunting anywhere I need it this year.

*Oh wait, nevermind. You don't have boobs.

LOL. ;)

I think I'll be okay. The way things work we will probably not even see an elk or deer since I've been trying to figure out what we would need if we ended up killing 2 elk and 2 deer.

It was some interesting reading going through all the rules on bears though. I did not realize that if you shot an animal within 200 yards of a trail that you had to drag the carcass at least 200 yards away from the trail.

Of course I've never shot an animal within 200 yards of a trail, but it was an interesting fact that I didn't know.

The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest actually just issued a press release on it yesterday. Theirs is the best one I saw.

The Custer-Gallitin Forests has a busted link for their requirements, you have to do some google searching to find theirs.
