Thought I'd start an archery picture porn thread. Here's mine:
2008.5 Elite Z28. Powder coated riser grey. New limbs maxed at 61lbs. 28" draw Rev cams. 60X strings. QAD LD rest. Cheapish but rugged sight. Kinda ghetto (soon to be replaced) Limbsaver dongis.

Shoots a 29" .340 spine Easton Axis with 75 gr brass insert and 100 gr. Slick Trick (480 gr. total) lights out at a smokin' 246 fps. KE is 64.4 (which really means squat in the real world) but the momentum number is .53 (now we talking). It also shoots a 590 gr small game arrow with a blunt tip at a blistering 232 fps, with 70 KE and .60 momentum. No squirrel is safe. This bow shoots so straight and so quiet, it feels like an extension of me. I love shooting it.

I also have a 2011 Pure at 70 lbs, but we have some disagreements we're trying to work out regarding tuning, noise and how an arrow should fly😏

So let's see your setups.

2015 Hoyt Carbon Spyder ZT 34. Black Gold Ascent 5 pin slider, Ripcord Ace rest, Tightspot 5 arrow quiver, Spot Hogg Wiseguy Release. The pic has a B Stinger 10" stab but it fell off somewhere in the field last season. Seems to shoot just fine w/o it. Victory V1 350 arrows, not sure of the weight. I won this bow last spring via a Rokslide giveaway. Had to sell my PSE Drive LT so I could trick it out.

My bow's at the shop right now. Nooooo...it's NOT broken...lol I'm getting a new rest put on it and waiting to hear from ortho at the VA next week about my shooting future and whether or not I have to take the 80# limbs off of it.

I gave up on most bow shops. Too expensive, too long wait times, and many times, they didn't answer specific questions I had. So I bought a $50 Bowmaster bow press, a $20 serving tool, watched a bunch of Youtube videos and I was in business. I don't take my bow in for anything anymore. And now, knowing what I know, it's amazing how little bow shop techs (and I mean real bow shop techs, not box store employees) actually know about what questions to ask a customer and how little they know about bow tuning. I work 100% on my own stuff and like it that way.

Hoyt Nitrum in Harvest Brown. Spot Hogg Hunter 5 pin sight. QAD rest. Tight Spot 5 arrow quiver shooting Easton Carbon Axis arrows topped with Solid Broadheads.

Yup. My local how shop is a complete joke. I'm done with them after the last trip.

Bought this Hoyt X-Tec brand new in 2004. 60 lbs draw and 28" draw length. I've always been pleased with Gold Tip XT hunter arrows (5575) and Muzzy 100 grain 3 or 4 blade broad heads. It has a Muzzy Zero-effect rest, and a Hoyt 5 pin sight. Although this bow is old, heavy, and slow, it has taken:2 whitetails, 3 muleys, and 3 elk. All the sight pins broke while packing out my mule deer this past season. My lovely wife got me a new Black Gold five pin sight for Xmas! This year, she will join me during archery season for the first time with her own bow.
The local archery shop in Butte is very helpful and knowledgable.

Love my old Hoyt XTec. Lots of practicing last summer at 60+ yards. This group was 63 yards. Thankfully, last year's elk was only at 34 yards. The only other time I split an arrow like this was 2007 at about 35 yards.

I'm doing another "custom" bow. I have a 2011 Pure I wanted to put girly 50 lb limbs on. So, I took off and sold my 70 lb limbs and sent my stripped riser to be dipped in this snow camo called Moonshine Freedom. I bought 215 deflection limbs off AT classifieds which should give me 50-ish pounds.

So the riser will be in the snow camo. Limbs are painted black with new Elite limb decals. The string stop and stab are black. New black and white strings from 60x came the other day. I can't wait to put it together. Should be a week or two. I'll post pics when it's done. Pic of camo is below.

Great Pattern

I like the camo pattern you selected. Great job!

This has been my go to tackle for the past 3 years, the Mathews Monster. I love it. Draws smooth, shoots quiet, and very accurate. I've been very happy with the CE Pile Driver Extremes, tipped with Rage 2-Blade Extremes, and CE lighted nocks. It's equipped with a SmackDown fall away rest, Axcel 5-Pin site, and Rage 5 arrow quiver. All released by a Tru-Fire Hardcore Max release. Arrows are 31 3/8" (Shaft, .272" diameter, 325 gr), Rage 2-Blade Extremes are 100 gr. Total weight with nocks, inserts, broadhead, and shaft, roughly 440gr. It's 33" axle to axle, that I have set at a 31" draw length and 50lbs draw weight. For the vast majority of game, that's more than adequate. It's been a great bow, and proven itself in the field many times.Matthews Monster.jpg

So I finished my Pure recently. Haven't had a chance to post pics. Maxes at 55#. Pure joy to shoot.
