Should I expect birds?

Headed to MT for deer. Should I bring the 20 gauge in case I see a grouse or some other upland birds? I've never upland bird hunted.

I probably saw 30 sharpies on 1 section a week ago. Could have been eating good

At the risk of being redundant; I just spent a week in the Missouri river breaks. Saw sharpies every day around any water sources. Would have been good hunting for them. Saw plenty of deer and elk as well.

I wouldn’t let birds get in the way of the goal posts. too much of a distraction.. unless they are blue grouse and its archery season, then no harm.
