I found this on the local news page. Hopefully they will get these over there asap.

(Albuquerque-AP) -- Researchers at Sandia National Laboratories have designed gauntlets to save the arms of soldiers riding atop military vehicles during combat.

The gauntlets have been field-tested by troops in Iraq.

Sandia’s shoulder-length gauntlets are made of layers of Kevlar, with carbon-composite forearm and upper arm protective inserts.

Kevlar is a reinforced material used in bulletproof vests and tires.

Sandia made a one-size-fits-all design with protection for the hand, wrist and elbow.

Soldiers recommended straps to hold the gauntlets in place.

They also suggested modifications to the forearm armor to increase flexibility.

Sandia’s next step will be to find a company to produce gauntlets for the military.

I just hope the heat doesn't become unbearable if you have a Kevlar helment, Kevlar body armor, DCU jacket and T-shirt under it, LCE, ammo, grenade vest and now kelvar gloves on.
