Sad News For Bozeman

Any Bozeman local would probably know George Dieruf from the iconic downtown store “Powderhorn.” His father started the business decades ago and it has remained a centerpiece on Bozeman’s Main Street all those years.

Sadly, George died of an unknown cause early Monday morning. The news is devastating to all that knew George and frequented the Powderhorn.

Best wishes to Ginny and family in this time of loss. George was a friend to many people that will miss his sense of humor and class that he added whenever he was around.

George was also an icon of Montana hunting and firearms legacy. His family Bozeman roots run deep and wide in the hunting community, as so many of the area greatly benefitted from their expertise, assistance, and services provided over the decades from the Powderhorn. George was a one-of-a-kind character, enduring to any who met him and highly entertaining to his friends and associates. He will be missed. RIP George Dieruf!
