When Montana's legislature convenes in January, sportsmen will no doubt be fighting bills meant to diminish hunting and fishing opportunity for the average guy once again.

As their President of the Senate, the GOP has elected Debby "I hate stream access law" Barrett. For majority leader, they chose Matt "Transfer all federal lands to the state" Rosendale. For his back up, they chose Austin "corner crossing and bison suck" Knudsen.

I dread odd numbered years in Montana. I don't sleep well, my work goes to hell, and I my friends get tired of my political rants. This year looks like it will be especially trying.

We ( MT resident, nonguided, nonleasing, public lands and water hunters and anglers) will have our work cut out for us. The GOP picked more conservative leaders than moderate Republicans.
