Just picked up a little walnut stocked Savage / Stevens bolt action .308 for a "loaner" rifle to let family and guests use when they hunt here.
Very economical rifle priced at $449.
It comes with a scope base mounted on the rifle so didn't have to buy a base.
Bought a set of rings and I had a Leupold VX2 3x9 that needed a home.
Bolt is pretty sloppy like most cheap rifles, feeds a little rough.
Trigger has some slop in it (may try to work on that).
Got it set up and took to the range. Shooting Remington 150gr core lokts, same as I use and it performed pretty well at 100 yards. Took a half dozen shots to get dialed in to where I wanted it approx. 1.5" high. Then put four shots pretty much on top of one another, could cover with a fifty cent piece.
I'd have to say it's a great little rifle for the money.
