Ny 6 year old son and I went fishing on the red river near our home on the ND, MN border near Halstad MN the other day. Even though the river is still a little high the fishing was great. In three hours from the bank and not fishing real hard (I want the kids to have the fun) we still caught an average of 10 fish an hour. Most were in that good eating size of 2.5-5lbs size. I had ond small cat about .5lbs on the hook and a very large cat hit it. I could not believe that this fish would hit right at the bank and did not let go until part way out of the water! What a great place to fish.
