Got out today for the first time in two months. That's a long time for me. Fishing was good, especially for bluegill First spot was loaded with bluegill and a few perch and crappie. Second spot was crappie with a few bluegill. I kept too many but lots of friends wanted fish and I've been slacking. fall fishing is going to be super.

We have moved to northern Idaho, and have been learning kokanee fishing. This year on Lake Coeur d'Alene they are in a cycle where the fish are huge, for Kokes, averaging almost 2#. My pictures are not good, and they don't look as good after a day on ice in the live well, but we did purty good last Tuesday as rookies, and did better yesterday. Made a good call on retiring to Idaho when it comes to fishing. My wife and her first kokanee, from a couple of weeks ago.

Nice haul! What’s the perch on the left measure? She appears to dwarf the others which are all excellent!

I will agree with @Treeshark ’s assessment of bluegill being the finest eating fish but add, from cold water they are even better!

12.5". I had a double with a couple nice ones but the fish on the bottom hook came off while I was trying to net them.

One thing I miss about living up there is fishing for blueback out on the lake. Have fun!
