I’ve had this thread in the past. My wife and I have done a spring break camp since before we even got married, and even camped the days before our wedding. Since having our daughter it’s turned into hybrid they visit during the day and I sleep in the tent overnight. Well this year since our daughter is a little over two years old now I wanted to try and make it a family affair again. My daughter loves being outside and loves animals, getting dirty, wet and wild just like me.

So we go to our in-laws and ours land. It’s always windy there but very windy this time. I drive around the bigger pasture trying to find a place out of the wind and cow patty’s; ended up not far from the bigger stock tank.

I set up camp and wife and I went to the woods to look for some good firewood for the stove and campfire while the girl napped at the in-laws. By the time we got done the in-laws met us with the girl while I was digging a fire pit, the little one helped.

I started a fire and they roasted marshmallows while I finished setting up camp.

Well the little one kept wanting to dive into the fire and I had a little case of food poisoning courtesy of the local sonic on the way in so we slept in the barndo that night. I was up early and caught about fifteen little bass before anyone was up.

Everyone met me at the tent for breakfast. Black coffee, hot chocolate, bacon, oatmeal and bagels.

Afterwords we “explored”.

The girl didn’t want to leave that creek and her and momma came back to camp muddy and wet like I figured they would. After a clean up and nap time the wife and I went fishing and caught I don’t know how many fish. Multiple doubles.

Well the day flew by and night time came and the girls elected to sleep indoors again. I elected to stay in the tent for all my troubles hauling it out and setting it up.

Our big sleeping pad sprung a leak but luckily I had our smaller pads, when I woke up flat on the ground I got one out and was back asleep in no time.
Woke up at dawn, packed up and hit the tank for a few casts; caught one and headed back up to the barndo.

While I was doing all this, little girl was running around and fell….hard. I say ok let’s head on home and she’ll be better after a nap and some rest, well on the fifth day of her not hardly walking wife takes her to urgent care for some x rays while I’m at work. X-rays are clear but still not walking; so I take the next day off and we go see the pediatrician, he can’t find anything either but we can’t get her to walk. He sets up appointment with orthopedic doc.
This was on Monday of this week and I’ve slowly gotten her to walk and play outside. She is very wobbly. She refuses to walk or even be on the floor inside and lives on the couch.

Very strange and my heart hurts, I miss the sounds of her running through our house. At this point it’s more of a mental thing than physical because she will run and play outside and becomes a whole other person indoors.

When my daughter broke her arm on the monkey bars it took her awhile to get back to her usual daredevil self. Scary not knowing what's wrong especially when nobody can find anything but you know your kids not acting themselves. Hopefully time will be the cure.

We had a swing set in the yard that had a set of rings for the kids to play and hurt themselves on. When my granddaughter was little, she did a face plant and knocked out a couple of front teeth. (I got the blame for this because it was on my watch) She wouldn't even go in my back yard again for quite a while. Last weekend she just became the Oregon state champion for her age group in gymnastics. So, they bounce back pretty easily.

Where? At least what state?
Upper right corner of your posts, tell us where you're from.
It's not a privacy thing. It's a contextual principle.

I’ve seen you post this same silly shit on multiple threads over the years. It’s a strange thing to get worked up about; it’s not like I’m gonna invite you over for wine and cheese especially considering I don’t like you even a little bit.

That’s actually a very cool story! Congrats to your family, and your granddaughter for overcoming that fear.

Not worked up a bit. It's merely a courtesy of clarification of context. 'Sorry it threatens you. 'Don't know you other than the "freak" thing and being a rude ass.
'Don't think I'd like your cheese; 'know I don't like your whine. Your "silly shit" is my honest, open clarification and pride in explaining where I reside and what the backdrop is for any image posted. But different folks. I get it. Go your happy way.
