Hey figured I would introduce myself. I am from SK, Canada and just completed my first ever elk hunt. It was a OTC rifle tag that kicked my butt. Basically what I hunt is public land that borders agriculture. They feed in the fields at night and shortly before or after shooting light head back into the forest. There is a main quad trail and that's about it besides the odd game trail. The bush is very very thick. A opening might be 20-30 yards across and most time you can see only about 10 yards into the bush. I learned lots on this past hunt and am already planning on things I need to change to be better prepared for next year.

I don't just hunt elk I have hunted deer(whitetails and Mulies), bear, moose once in awhile and antelop once in awhile. I also enjoy fishing, hunting waterfowl and upland and I trap all winter. Look forward to learning lots and hopefully beat the odds and be successful next year
