Nature shows on TV say that when two bull moose compete for a lady moose, the one with the smaller antlers concedes to the other one. I can see how a moose can tell the size of his opponent's antlers, but how does he know how big his own are?

Elkhunter,
A couple years of back I had the pleasure of watching a small bull, about 48" tie into to a old boy with about 60"+. It took them about 20 minutes to get it on, but it was a one hitter! (what a noise they made when they hit!) The smaller bull staggered off! It was great, the bigger bull was standing there grunting, steam was rolling out of his nose, just waiting for the little guy to come back. What a sight to see while having morning coffe on Spirit Lake in Alaska.
Be safe, have fun!

P.S. I already had a 62" in the meat bags.

I think the small one knows his wasn`t the biggest when he hears the boom and he`s still standing!
