"The Millionaire Next Door" can't remember author at the moment

"Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki

yes, the Bogleheads, they will teach you the fundamentals and beyond - here is a start from the bogleheads: http://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Bogleheads®_investing_start-up_kit

Swedroe, Ferri, Labouf (Millionaire Next Door guy) and a few other extremely wise people post there. They don't have a high opinion of Kiyosaki or financial advisors fwiw.

If you are mathematically inclined get: http://www.amazon.com/The-Intelligent-Asset-Allocator-Portfolio/dp/0071362363 which made me suddenly understand diversity, etc. A Random Walk Down Wall Street is also a classic explaining your realistic options for investments for people who don't require a mathematical treatment to understand something.
