Hey guys, I’m looking for a little help. I have a Marlin 1895gbl in 45-70 I’m going to sell. I’m trying to figure out it’s actual value. Seems like values are all over the place right now. I believe it was produced shortly after the Remington acquisition of Marlin. I have a cheap Nikon scope on it. It’s in good condition. Thanks for any help.

Theres two listed on GunBroker. $1350 and $1800, neither have any bids on them

I saw those, no way is it 1400 worth. I have 5.5 boxes of Buffalo bore ammo I’d sell with it that would probably darn near double the price🤦🏼‍♂️.

I couldn't tell if if barrel jm stamped which seems adds about 200, large lever another 150, couldn't tell some other stuff, before covid jm stamped I personally wouldn't sell for less than 800. Although I found one in pawn for 500. I almost felt bad walking out with it

I wouldnt walk by a jm .45-70 for $500 in decent condition.

These are weird times so who really knows what you could sell it for. $400-$550 in normal times. If you aren't in a hurry, start high ($1000) and see what you get.

The Remlins are simply not as desirable as the Marlin factory guns. And the ones made soon after the merger are generally viewed with suspicion by informed buyers. I was in the market for a couple marlins recently and if it was a Remington, I didn't take a second look regardless of price. That said, most buyers are not informed and 45/70 is quite popular right now for a number of reasons and so the "value" doesn't have to make sense. List it on an auction and you are sure to get decent money on it relative to your original costs, assuming you didn't buy it the past few months. Then you will know what it is "worth" and you will have taken it out of your hands and into someone else's hands (willingly purchased by the way) and you can focus on something different. When/if the market comes down to earth, your gun will fall faster in value than JM models, so let the bidders do the talking and I would suggest not selling it on this forum unless the person can inspect it and knows precisely the condition or any flaws of what they are buying.

Also, sell it without the scope. You will get ZERO return for that, unfortunately. Just pull the scope and sell it separately even if its not worth much.
